and important pieces on our journey of empowerment.

Archetypes are a powerful tool to understanding the human psyche.

Held in the collective unconscious, they are said to be prototypes or templates of consciousness. They have both a Shadow and an Illuminated expression.

According to Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961), Archetypes are patterns that repeat themselves in the collective unconscious. This could be in the form of dreams, stories, art or myths. Going beyond cultural boundaries archetypes are universal.

That’s why every human being recognises and is influenced by Archetypes.
Examples of Archetypes are: a queen, a warrior, a child or a teacher.

They define certain roles or themes we are expressing in our lives. But as they are unconscious we usually don’t recognise them playing out.

On our journey of evolution we need to become aware which Archetype is showing up and make a conscious choice to act from the Illuminated instead of the Shadow expression.
